I went for a walk this morning.....outside. Seriously, that is how lovely the weather is right now. Forecast indicates that it will be 90 again on Wednesday, which is completely unacceptable so I will ignore it. Today it is lovely and that is all that matters at this moment. (How zen of me.)
*The Marvelous Miss C hung out with me this morning while her glowing Mama took the new baby for his first doctors appointment. Mr E got glowing reports and continues to be a really chill dude. He is so very holdable that it's hard to share. His little roundness just nestles in to you and the baby bliss takes over. While he looks very much like his sister, he seems to be a bit more mellow and I'm excited to watch his personality grow. Cam is doing a good job of making the adjustment from only child to big sister. She is a little off her game, but I don't see it lasting long. She loves Emerson like crazy and is such a sweet, gentle child.
*Have you heard of this? The World Needs more Love Letters. I was watching a few TED talks when I came across this one....... (it's less than 5 minutes long. Go ahead and watch it.)
.....and I was moved. I believe we are all connected. All of us, and because we are all connected we have a responsibility to treat each other with compassion, respect and love. In doing this, we are loving ourselves. Here was Hannah, still in her twenties and reminding us of an age old, tried and true way to show love. A method that had been left behind in this age of "right now". I found the website and read that a love letter had been found here in Rockford in the Best Buy. For some reason this really touched me. Someone here had heard Hannah's message and was out there spreading love and encouragement. I NEED to be a part of this. So, every week I write a few letters and spread them around town. I also respond when a call comes that there is someone out there that needs to be reminded that they are not alone. I love this. LOVE this. The website has all the info if you want to be a part of this little mission of anonymous love and connection.
*New favorite nail polish: OPI Suzi and the 7 Dusseldorfs, from the Germany collection. Sort of a mulberry purple. Why I didn't take a picture when I had it all pretty on my fingernails I do not know. Taking a picture of your toes is kind of crazy. No snide comments on my monkey-like second toe. It's like a half inch longer than the rest. Interesting FYI regarding this toe; occasionally I get a cramp that causes this toe to point straight down. It is hilarious to see, though not so much to experience.
*Warning...bad movie alert! "Branded" AH and I went to see it Saturday night and it was pretty terrible. We did spend quite a lot of time afterward talking about it, but that was mostly because we were so confused that we were trying to sort it out. We failed. The concept had the possibility of being awesome, but unless you categorize awesome as plain old weird, I'd take a pass. Consider yourself warned.
*Yet another reason to ask for an iphone for my birthday:
Tardis iphone covers!!!!! I mean, who would not want a Tardis cover for their ipod? It's right up there with fish sticks and custard! Geronimo! (For those of you not followers of The Doctor, I do apologize. We'll be back to your regularly scheduled blog in just a moment.) And how cool was Dinosaurs on a Spaceship with Mr. Weasley and Argus Filch?!
That's it for today. I'm wishing that this lovely breeze is being felt on all your faces. xo
I LOVED that Mr. Weasley was in that episode! Barty Crouch, Senior was in a past episode. . . with David Tennant. I also would almost get an iPhone to have that cover.
