It took me three times to type insomniac correctly. That's how tired I am. It was past 4 am when I finally fell asleep and then I got back up at quarter of 8 when AH left for work. I don't know what the problem was. I have that sort of fluffy, fuzzy feeling in my head that is not altogether unpleasant. Point here....I may not entirely make sense today. Make of it what you will.
Guess what?! It rained yesterday! Not the toad strangling storms of late, but a lovely, almost romantic rain. You know that scene in Pride and Prejudice where Keira Knightly and Matthew Macfaddyen are standing in the rain and she is just blasting the heck out of him for misrepresenting himself and destroying her sister's relationship and her anger was breaking his heart? It was that sort of rain. I sat in the doorway of the bedroom and watched, breathed, listened to the beautiful rain. Sam joined me.
Dog posterior. There was a bunny on the other side of the trees that he was considering giving chase.
The rain collected on the edges of the gazebo fabric and dripped off the tips of things hanging there.
It condensed on the interior of the lantern. You can't tell from this picture, but it has been so hot that this poor white candle has been melting down into itself.
Randomness:
Movies: 'First Position" is a ballet documentary that follows several children as they compete in prestigious competitions. I have been trying to find a theater nearby that is showing this film for months and then I got an email telling that it would be available (for a really short time) via ONDemand and Comcast. Yay. So I watched it. I am awed by ballet dancers and the pain and discipline required to dance, especially on point. The passion and joy they experience is enviable and beautiful to watch. I think dance is the next best thing to flying. I loved it, but if you aren't a fan of dance, take a pass.
TV: Did I say this last week? The Newsroom is a fantastic show. Really, really good. Every week I think it can't get better and then it does. There has been studies done that indicate that while watching television, our brains shut off, and that may be true, but programs like 'The Newsroom" wake my brain up and make me excited to think. There isn't another show on right now that can hold a candle to it.
Books: I finished "Shadow of Night". Sigh. I was so sad to close the cover on that book. Now I'm reading "The Night Circus". I can't really give it much of a review yet, but I can say that the writing is glorious. Descriptive, illuminating, beautiful. I hope the story lives up to the words.
Product: Revlon Colorstay polish. This is another nail product that is supposed to be long lasting....up to 11 days. In the fine print are the words "when used with Revlon base and top coats". Sneaky buggers. I used it with OPI base coat and Seche Vite fast drying top coat. ( I swear by this stuff. Best top coat ever.) I am on day 4 and no chips. I like the color selection; the Wild Strawberry is almost exactly like OPI Pompeii Purple, which is a fav of mine.
I leave you with the final scene of the US version of Pride and Prejudice where the use of the word "incandescently" is genius. It would not allow me to embed, but please go HERE and enjoy a happy beginning to another week.
