Or, NEW BOOTS, to be more accurate, and are they not tres fabulous? Here in the land of snow and ice and rain and mud (SO MUCH MUD) and tornadoes, footwear is often a dilemma. Now, being all old and everything, I generally wear sensible shoes. Keens are almost always my shoe brand of choice, but once in awhile I go crazy and man-oh-man did I flip completely out with these. They are Bogs. Bogs. Could they be named any more appropriately? They even have handles. Put your foot in, pull on the handles and you are ready to splash through every puddle, clomp through snow, and show that gall darn mud who the heck is boss. (Can you tell I'm having some mud issues?) Look, even a
macro close-up of the oh so mod purple and red and blue and green. They are even squishy comfortable. I got new wonderful boots at Zappos who ship for free and deliver next day. No affiliation, just happy customer.
You have most likely heard that we have been having some severely strange weather in these parts. For about 4 days we had temps in the low 60's and then the s*&t hit the fan. Tuesday a battle of warm and cold fronts spawned some pretty scary tornadoes. One of our favorite fall attractions, Edward's Apple Orchard, sustained horrible damage to their home and barns. Houses were leveled, trains de-railed. Scary business. Tornadoes in January are unheard of. I think our planet is trying to tell us something. I, for one, intend to listen.
But, back to happier things, like shoes and music. I leave you with a YouTube video of a young singer that my daughter, Kysa (mwah) turned me on to. Paolo Nutini singing "New Shoes".
Neato! They manage to be Cowboyish/midscentury and practical all at once. Glad the Tornadoes missed you.
