This is the first Christmas gift that Amazing Husband ever gave me.
We call him Frankie, but his full name is Frankincense-and-Purr. He is a pure bred himalayan. (I know, I thought they only came in seal point, too.) Frank has a big purr and a lot of love, but he has some serious issues with the brush. It takes three men and a boy to hold this cat down to be brushed so, being a lazy cat mommy, I do not. Most of the year, this isn’t much of an problem, but when the cold weather comes and the air gets dry, Frank becomes a mass of matts. If he hates the brush, he hates the clippers even more. So off we go to the vet and have him groomed. The groomer calls this the “Lion cut”. The face, tail and feet are left and everything else lands on the groom room floor. This picture is kind, he really looks pretty ridiculous, but it is the price he must pay for being an uncooperative grump.
The part I enjoy the most about this ritual is that being without his coat makes him one heat seeking kitty and my lap is a good place since I almost always have wool there. I knit and he purrs and we’re both happy.
That’s Karl’s afghan and I can happily report that it is FINISHED!! NO MORE AFGHANS!!! (until I forget how much I dislike knitting them.)
For todays Christmas music choice, I opted for a more humorous selection…
Bob Rivers “Twisted Christmas”. We got this CD back when the kids were teenagers and I have to admit that I still laugh like a loon when it plays. I’m especially fond of “The Chimney Song” and “The Restroom door said Gentlemen.”
If anyone else made their own Southpark character I’d love to see it.
