Blogland is an interesting place. If you spend any regular time reading blogs, sometimes you start to feel like you know that person just a little. You read about their knitting trials, maybe a family or pet story thrown in there. You hope good things for them and you hope they will come and read your blog now and then. Not too long ago I began reading Joy of Yarn. I liked her writing style, but I must confess that it was the adventures of her pet chicken, Dizzy, that drew me in. Since that day I’ve become cyber friends with Joy. She was kind enough to email the tale of how she acquired Dizzy and helped me work out a few Foxfire viewing problems I was having with my blog. Joy is especially wonderful about reading Woolly Mutts and commenting very nice things. (I have a soft spot for people that say nice things.
) Dizzy the chicken was a rescue. I mean, how cool is that? We often hear stories about dog and cat rescues, but how often do you hear about someone with enough love to resuce a chicken? Obviously, Joy is a good person. (her hubby, too!)
Sometimes bad things happen to good people and Joy is no exception. Today she posted the sad news that Dizzy has passed on. We’ve all lost a pet and we know that it can be every bit as hard as losing a human loved one. Heaven knows it has been for me. If you’re reading this, click on over to Joy of Yarn and show Joy a little love. Leave her a nice comment and maybe she won’t feel quite so sad.
Goodbye Dizzy. You were a great chicken, egg layer and friend. I’m gonna miss hearing about you. Where ever chickens go when they die, I know you’re going to get special treatment. Thanks for the smiles you gave me.

(Joy, I saved this pic to my computer. I’m not using your bandwidth. Hope you don’t mind.)
